OCR: Some two dozen cactus species that grow in the southwestern US are known to be endangered. Among them is a small hedgehog cactus, commonly called the black lace cactus that lives in a single location in Texas. There are two main threats to the survival of this cactus - one is the development of land, and the other is collection by commercial collectors and by people who want to have the cacti in their own homes or gardens.
